I got up in the dark to make coffee. My wife the teacher had to get ready for work. Me the unemployed tries to do the home part. Some days it is hard, that male thinking, "Would John Wayne be doing this." We accumulated images of what life should be. We try to be the Ring Master and control the circus. This is me easily side tracked.
I read my reading, tried to bead DW score in Free Cell Solitare, someday it will happen.
I filled the laundry machines,
I started framing the boardwalk in my back yard. Once the 1st 5 x 10 section was framed I started putting down the decking. The walkway curves around a large maple tree and rock garden. There was alot of cutting and fitting, but no fear of mistakes. Today I had faith in my Higher Power to keep things straight.
Many times I frozen by fear.
When my wife arrived home from work she was impressed with the progress. That made it a good day, for all the disappointments I have brought to the marriage. Like a tornado through a forest I left a lot of wreckage.
today it was good thanks to being sober and working with my Higher Power.

Hey Capt. Paul, ... I really loved your post ... It has a great message to it ... thanks ...
If you know me by now, you'll understand my following comment .... otherwise I'll apologize ahead of time ... But when I read your 1st paragraph, I laughed out loud to think "Would John Wayne be doing this?" ... :undecided:
I'm sorry man, and I don't mean to detract from your post, cause it's good ... But I thought, ya know, I don't think John Wayne is very busy at the momment, and he just might indeed like to be doing what you're doing ....:11:
Ah yes, the Duke .... Sure be nice to have someone like that back on the 'silver screen' ... big man, great man ... :85:
Hope I didn't offend, and God Bless,:42:

Thank you so much for sharing. It is not easy. I know my son was doing seasonal work and he gets really depressed when he isn't working. It is good that you are doing constructive things around the house. A lot is our attitude towards things and our approach to them. It can be a real chore or it can be an enjoyable task.

Thanks all for paying attention. I felt I should participate beyond The arcade and quick glimpses of headlines.
I like being a cave man in my alone in my cave, and don't readily let anyone know what is going on in my head.
