Didn't know where else to post this little prayer I came across , it really defines God in my life..and reminds me that God is always there..

I am with you

In the springtime of your life, when joy is new
And when summer brings the fullness of your faith
I am there with you

I am with you in the autumn of your years, to turn to gold
Every memory of yesterdays, to banish winter's cold.

I am with you in the sunshine, when your world glows warm and
bright.

I am with you when life's shadows bring long hours of endless
night.

I am with you every moment, every hour of every day..

Go in peace upon life's journey, for I am with you all the way.

Peace Schell

Defeat lies not in failing or making mistakes; rather, it lies in giving up on ourselves when we do so.

Reality is harsh. It can be cruel and ugly. Yet no matter how much we grieve over our environment and circumstances nothing will change. What is important is not to be defeated, to forge ahead bravely. If we do this, a path will open before us. :24:

When facing adversity, we may think we’ve reached our limit, but actually the more trying the circumstances, the closer we are to making a breakthrough. The darker the night, the nearer the dawn. Victory in life is decided by that last concentrated burst of energy filled with the resolve to win.:12:

Anyone can hit a wall. :23: The anguish felt then is proof of one’s desire to move forward. But all is for naught if you falter at that moment. Action—that is the key to breaking through an impasse. :85:

The economy is after all driven by people. No matter how dire the situation may be, as long as people are firm, a turnaround, revival and progress can be possible. :40:

A person’s true nature is revealed at times of the greatest adversity. :2Poking:

The world of Hell is a state in which life is itself painful; where anything you see makes you feel miserable. Such people need someone—anyone—to be at their side. They need someone who will be there for them, to listen and offer even just a few words of encouragement. That’s all it may take for the flame of life to burn brightly once again in the heart of someone who is suffering deeply. :4Comfort:
Just knowing that someone cares makes one's heart expand. :15:

*Angels on Earth :43:

Many people believe that angels are God’s messengers at work in the world today.

Angels come in many forms, from helpful animals to mysterious strangers, from glorious heavenly angels to earth angels, those human beings who generously assist others.

Angels can come to us in dreams, on a breeze, or in a strain of music. When they appear, they are surrounded by profound mystery and radiate life-affirming hope.

Stories of Hope
Hope and faith are inextricably bound. In many instances, the power of hope and the power of faith grow stronger in adversity and challenging situations.

Inspirational stories dramatically show how in drawing upon their faith and hope, individuals are better able to overcome various hardships.

*Inspirational Stories :4Comfort:

We are constantly immersed in stories—from television news to films, novels and TV programs. The true stories we tell are inspirational stories of faith, hope and love, stories of life-changing events as well as small unexpected moments of grace.

Most importantly, inspiring true stories are about and by people like you.

People who meet challenges with optimism. People who have discovered how to live their lives with more hope and joy and, through their stories and their experiences, have helped others do the same.

*Mysterious Ways :219:

There is evidence of God’s love all around us, we just need to recognize it.
A stranger’s all-too-perfectly timed random act of kindness.
A deceased loved one who appears to you in a dream just when you need her most.
A delayed flight that leads to an unexpected family reunion.

These events we believe are more than mere coincidences.
They are proof that God’s love, God’s grace and God’s mercy are indeed revealed in Mysterious Ways.

*Pet Stories :40:

Our furry and feathered friends bring so much joy to our lives.
They love us unconditionally and live in the moment.
For many of us, our pets are nothing short of angels in disguise: like the wheelchair-bound therapy dog who brings cheer to sick children or the stray kitten who restored one woman’s faith and hope during a trying time.

Pets are indeed earth angels. There’s a lot we can learn from them.

I’ve been praying my way through Psalm 37. Slowly. Very slowly. I begin to read and the first three words stop me in my tracks:

Do not fret ...

Oh, dear. I guess I blew this one! Lord, help me not to fret. Help me not get caught up in my worries. I name each of the things I am anxious about, wrenching them forcibly from my heart and handing them over to God. A while later, I go back and return to reading the verse.

Do not fret because of those who are evil...

Oh dear, all over again! You mean ... even that person who’s causing me so much distress? Deep sigh. Stop. Time to pray again. Lord, I bring before you _________, with whom I am so upset. Bless her, Lord, and make your face shine upon her. Give her your peace, your love, your mercy ...

Eventually I head back to the beginning of the Psalm:

Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong

Ten minutes have passed, and now I have to deal with envy. Praying this Psalm is going to take a long time.

But that’s good. Slow prayer gives me time to set my soul straight, item by item. It highlights the obstacles to “a closer walk with Thee,” and keeps me from breezing past the problem areas in my heart.

Which isn’t to say that I like facing up to the ways my soul sometimes sputters when it faces God’s word. But I know that often the fastest spiritual growth comes from reading Scripture slowly, when I stop frequently to see how well my heart is aligned with the Word.:281:

TWO MONKS :281:

Once upon a time, years ago, two monks, Tinzen, the elder and Akido, the younger, were traveling together during the rainy season.

They moved steadily down the muddy road in silence. A heavy rain had just stopped. The road followed a small swollen creek, overflowing from the recent downpour.

Coming around a bend where the road crossed the creek, they saw a lovely young woman, dressed in an elegant silk Kimono with a scarlet sash, who had sought shelter from the sudden spring rain under a roadside cache.

As they approached the young woman, she spoke, “My name is Su Chen, I am on the way to my sister’s wedding in Lin Chow.”

The young woman seemed in great distress. “The steam has risen and the roadway across is covered with water. I will ruin my new dress in trying to cross. Can you help me?”

Akido, the younger hesitated. But, Tinzen, the elder, responded at once.

“Come on girl, I’ll carry you across.” Without hesitation, Tinzen scooped the young woman up in his arms, helped her onto his back, and carried her through the swift water to beyond the muddy bank.

When Tinzen put her down, the young woman thanked him, kissed his cheek, and departed on her way along the north fork of the road to Lyn Chow.

Again in silence, Tinzen and Akido continued on their journey along the south fork toward their monastery. Throughout all this, Akido, although brooding and preoccupied, had not spoken.

The monks walked quietly for a long time, until Akido, the younger, could contain himself no longer and said, “Brother Tinzen, you know, we Privation Monks have precepts, teaching us to avoid any contact with and not touching a woman. We don’t go near females, especially beautiful ones.

How could you so blatantly carry that young woman on your shoulders? Why did you do that?

Tinzen, the elder, replied, “Oh! I put that girl down a long time ago, back at the river bank. Why are you still carrying her around? :undecided:

Sometimes, we need to just let it go.

If I could make a clear distinction between self-love and love of self, it would be a giant step forward.

Self- love many times is a the source of hostility and arrogance, the big ego around which everything must revolve. :undecided:

Many times it makes one unable to see any point of view outside their own.
It is the mark which is closed many times to real feeling for others.:162:

Love of self, on the other hand, carries out many times the basic principle "Love thy neighbor as thyself."
We can love others, and help them, only when we are at peace with ourselves.:15:
When we appreciate our own dignity and value as human beings, we are better able to have compassion for others.

Todays Reminder:
Self-love often wears a mask of false humility behind which we may exaggerate our own importance, and justify wrong done to others.
True humility often comes from love of self, which is the realization of ourselves as we really are.

"Resolve to be thyself and know that he who finds himself losses misery.":281:
