Hey Girls, ... Just found a new recipe ... haven't tried it yet, but it's got my interest up ... thought I'd go ahead and past it along in case ya'll get a chance to try it first :15: ... Let me know what you think! (I usually have a little 'icing' for brownies in a tube in the frig. ... I'm thinking if this mug cake is any good, a little squirt of icing on it might do the trick!) :29:

Love Ya'll,:42:

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..

Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.

The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT ! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

If I am not mistaken, I tried this several years ago. Probably didn't do it again, because if I have chocolate cake, I always want more. A cupful of cake isn't going to happen around me. Now that I am diabetic, it can't happen around me.

Hey JoJo, ... I understand and I agree ... (I weighed 160lbs and wore size 34 pants going into treatment (lost a lot of weight due to eating and drinking only alcohol) ... Now that I'm clean for a while, I weigh about 200lbs and have had to go to size 38" wide pants) ... And a chocolate 'anything' doesn't stand a chance of being around long with me nearby, Ha! ...

My oldest son is diabetic and has to watch everything he puts in his mouth too ... the good news is he doesn't have to do the injections anymore, he just takes pills ...

Good to hear from you ...

Love you and God Bless,:42:

I have Type 2 Diabetes and take pills too. I give myself a treat once in a while but not a whole cake. Dennninger's have pieces of cake sold individually from the goodies not sold the day before. Sometimes you can get them for 1/2 price. That is when I give myself a treat, either chocolate or carrot cake.

OOOOH, ... Carrot cake is one of my favs ... You ever had a 'pumpkin' cake roll thingy? .... I'm here to tell ya, that stuff is right down out of heaven!!!

I can't remember if I mentioned this before or not, but about a month ago for an 'eating meeting', I made a German choc. cake where you poke holes in the cake and fill the holes 1st with 'sweetened cond. milk', then you pour liquid caramel in the holes after that and then ice it with 'cool whip' ....

OOOOh Boy was it good ... cake with all that gooey stuff inside? ... oooh man ... Uh-Oh, ... I'm starting to get a craving ... OK, new subject!!!

Bye!
Pappy ............. Oh and God Bless!:42:
