Back in Massachusetts after a few days in the Washington DC area.
I was helping my daughter who lives in Liberia get her possessions ready to transport to her home in Monrovia, Liberia.
Loaded my truck in MA on Sunday. Drove 11 hours to Maryland. spent Monday organizing her storage unit, and packing for shipment. I haven't gotten to spend much time with her in years, but we had a special time together for a couple of days. Yesterday drove 10 hours home by myself, grateful to be able to help and to still have a wonderful person in my life.
If I had not gotten sober when I did she probably would not be a part of my life today.
Today I know why I was supposed to get sober.
