I made A 9 step move 4 months ago I didnt have any expectations when my brother told me that my father has been sober for 5 years I read in the daily reflection that AA is not a cure all for every alcoholic but it worked for me my dad recovered throgh psycology but the big book says we cooperate with such organization but i realize the character that my father operates in is the aa program and that is humility in its finest

There are several alternative programs out there. They say, do whatever works for you. I think the key word is 'work' and what we plan to put into our recovery.

I am glad your dad lived to get sober. As an elder once said to me, "It isn't who or what you were born, it is who you are in today that matters."
