It was several weeks since the last meeting I attended. Running a charter fishing boat in the summer time, does that to life.
I got there last night. Boy was it good.

I go to a city 60 miles away to go to AA meetings. I can not afford the gas money to go to a lot of meetings. But I am grateful when I get to one of the AA meetings. I always bring something out of the meetings. The fellowship is great. I almost always see someone there that I know. It is wonderful to celebrate my sobriety birthday and get a chip, sharing how I got to where I am.

dwmoeller, thanks for reminding me of this..my sponsor used to say..you drove so far to go get drunk or score drugs every day, so now you can drive that far to go to a meeting and even get there every day...darn you used to drink every day! yeah she was right. Now, I don't go to meetings everyday, but darn she is right..and I keep this in mind esp. when I don't feel like going. When I really can't go I read a grapevine or do something in recovery. Peace Schell

dwmoeller - Thank you! I live in South Florida where there are meetings around the clock seven days a week and several places to attend. Thanks for waking me up in the context of availability of meetings. I sometimes forget to be grateful for that difference. Always remember that it only takes two to make a meeting! God bless you.
