:undecided:So I started drinking st the age of 14 I was born and raised in salina ks. Both my parents are recovering alcoholics of 32 years. My biological dad died of this baffling desease so I was raised by my mom and step dad my step dad who was very abusive to me as a child growing up so we never had a father son relationship both my parents sobered up in 1978 they had met in treatment at Norton vallyhope and have been married for 33 years so I was a very angry child growing up...I was an introvert I had but only one freind in high school...pretty much a loner. I didn't drink much in high school the first time I got drunk was at 16 and a few other times before I graduated high school. At age 19 I joined the marines. Thats when my drinking realy kicked off just bc it was encouraged it was pretty much progressing in the marines but my thinking was it made it ok for me to drink I spent 4 years in....and got out and came back home. And it was like coming back to the same old **** as I left. So I bought my first house got married and my drinking just progressed to b worse than ever my first wife left me and we divorced drinking just became an everyday thing for me I was getting worse. I had gotten two dui and decided to go to treatment at norton vallyhope I managed to stay sober for 60 days. But managed to get into a relationship I stopped going to meetings didn't have a sponcer and went right back to drinking I lost my family of support for 4 years of my second marriage we then divorced and again my drinking worsened I drink almost every day alone for 1 year until my last drink on Jan 9 of 2011 I now have a sponcer I go to meetings at least 3-4 a week. I'm working on the steps and life is great. I have the best relationship with my family today we all attend meetings wich is great.....I love my.self today and my sobriety today....thanks for aa.
