When I was sober for over a month. Somehow when I go over friends house and they were having a small party so those people asked me if I want something to drink and I told them no thanks. They were trying to encourage me to drink some beer and I told them I cant drink because ive made a lot of mistake and learned my lesson for DUI and reckless driving. I dont want go thru all this things again like the cop came over my house arrested me and took me to jail for overnight 12 hours then bailed out then had go to the court. I dont wanna go thru all those things again. Its really cost me money for having lawyer and other fines. They seems have no respect me but they were trying to push me and want me go back my old way but I told them I cant go back my old way cuz I was too scare to get trouble again. Glad that I havent been drinking over a month since I got arrested Oct 4th 2005.

Hello Tbreds, Hope you don't mind me saying hello but I can well identify with your story here and I just wanted to share a little with you in the hope that you might see some similarities to my own. I have a string of DUI's. I've ploughed in to many a street fence then through someones garden and out the other side..."Waw! did we hit something again man"?... Guess what? If you don't want to go through all that again, you don't have to. The one thing you will have to do though is get into AA. The people there have found a way to live their lives without the booze, and that's something you'll never learn to do if you hang out with buddies who are still drinking in that same old way. There's a whole new world out there and it's just waiting for you to embrace it, clean and sober.
Hope you don't mind my comments, I wish you well.

Its no problem. I like to learn something about AA. Since Ive got 2 little girls so I realize its time for me to grow up and start being a fatherhood with those girls. I need to be more supportive with girls. Those girls really changed me when I stopped drinking so we become more getting closer. My wife promise me not to drink again so I promise her that I wont drink again. It was hard for awhile not to drink again so right now I havent been able to drink for a month so Im glad i start to get clean up myself up and wake up.

Just a word of warning if I may Tbreds, you won't do it on you own willpower. We need the help of those who have gone before us. They have learned certain ways of doing things that will help you to stop and stay stopped. You'll find these people at any AA group in you area. Go on, they're waiting for you.
God bless you're family.

There are meetings in most cities in the states and most of the world. AA is listed in the white pages, or if you give us the city your at, I might be able to find you a meeting list.

Hey Tbreds...can hear your heart...not wanting to...
Hoping you get all the help that you can!
You have some excellent reasons/motivation...and there is LOTS of help and hope!!
I needed help, too, and I found help in the AA program.
Hope you will keep coming back.
HUGE hug!
Hang in there!
Sam
I got in to AA on my own. The desire to not drink got me there but the fellowship keeps me coming back. Glad to find this forum - helps for those lonely nights at home.
Welcome, Velo!
Big old hug!!
Looking forward to getting to know you better!
