Decided to try to make it the way my mom did. Not sure if she put in a pinch of mustard or not like a 'traditional' recipe called for. Didn't see the mustard until after mine was in the oven.

Cooked mini-shell pasta - anything will do

Drained but not rinsed

Sauted finely chopped onion in sauce pan, not browned, just par cooked.

added milk and cheese (monteray jack, yellow cheddar and pizza mozzerella - to quote package). I added white cheddar.

Before it came back up to a boil I added a beaten egg, parsley flakes (real is good), pepper and salt.

Put in a greased casserole at 350 deg. in a preheated oven. I will cook about 20 minutes until onion cooks completely.

Portions according to size of casserole.

All day Mararoni and cheese:

8 ounces elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
4 cups(16 ounces) shredded sharp Chedder Cheese
1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 large onion (finely diced and saunted until golden) (optional)
1 tblsp. real bacon bits (optional)

Place the cooked macaroni in crockpot that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Add the remaining ingredents, all except 1 cup of the cheese, mix well. Sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of cheese and then cover and cook on low setting for 5 to 6 hours or until the mixture is firm and golden around the edges. Do not remove the cover or stir until it has finished cooking.
