Amazing thing happened after I quit going to meetings, I started drinking again :o, I've been in and out of A.A. for 15 years now and the longest I stayed dry was 2 years. Everything A.A. said I would do I did, I want so bad to be a normal drinker but it's never going to happen. ones to many and ten's not enough for me. Now I'm sad and frustrated and determined to get this alcoholic problem under control, So it's back to meeting's. I'll keep ya all posted. P.S. Alcohol is hell ;)

Hey, Floydster!!

Thank you for coming here and sharing!

I know I wanted with all my heart to control and enjoy my drinking.

I am grateful to my Higher Power for removing the obsession, just for today.

Sending a hug! Hope you will let us know how you're doing and give a hollar if we can be of service, somehow!

Samf

Dear Floyd,
I have not stopped going to meetings since my first back in 1987. Kept my job, kept my wife, fathered another child, was diagnosed diabetic, had a crisis of conscience after 17 years of sobriety, but kept going to meetings and talking to my sponsor and other alcoholics, had a quintuple bypass, continued to go to meetings, and I celebrated 20 years on December 15. Life happens, but I do not have to drink over it today. Keep coming back, it works if you work it, all those good sayings, have meant alot to me over the years. I hope that you continue to go to meetings.
