I've been born again now for 4 years. God has blessed me with so much. I've been able to hold on to my kids, wife, friends, job, and many other things. I know if I continue to drink all would be lost. With God all is possible.....................my faith has been week. I hadn't giving my drinking to God becouse I still wanted to drink. I know now that I truly have a sickness and thats addiction to the drink. I looked into AA and quickly realized that the word God is all over the place..........this is what I needed. I know there are a alot of AA groups that are scared to say the G word. I encourage those of you who have a belief in God to find a christian based AA group. I have found one and it's been life changing for me.

Besides there much more to life than staying sober.

God Bless

Hi, there, sobertoday, and welcome.

One thing I learned from AA...there are more, in my own, case, but this is one...is about the physical addiction/craving in me, with alcohol. I didn't understand that, before.

I was a Christian and sober for almost ten years, and then got drunk again, for one night. I think the God of my understanding helped me get sober, the next day, and got me to AA.

Seems like maybe God takes us each where we are and leads us along, to whatever we need. I know one thing I've learned, for me, is that I see a loving God present in both Christians and AA's alike.

I'm glad you're here.

Smiling and waving...sending a hug!

How true, how true. I haven't had a drink in about2 1/2 to 3 months........................some problems still there, most gone. I ain't kiddn', it's like O.K. let's get on with life. Has anyone else tried a Christian based a.a. where they use the big book, 12+12, and the bibile?

I've had drinking prob. since I was a kid. I've half stepped in trying to stop for many years.......................This time around I really am committed. Got me a sponsor, attend at least 2 meeting per week, yada, yada, yada..............but the first thing I had to do is admit I was an alchoholic(spell check) and that I wanted to stop. Thank you goes out to all the other alchy's who have shared with me throughout the way.

....................I'm sober today.

My sponsor invited me to a Celebrate Recovery meeting.............I really enjoyed it. Has anyone tried one of these meetings?

Sober Today

Our Purpose:

The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the "8 Recovery Principles." This experience allows us to "be changed." By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power.
