was down in the City yesterday
went to a little Bible study at my church
got thinking after the study
there is a rehab (drug and alcohol) hospital next door
thought that I could drop by there
have a smoke (cigar) with a patient or two
helps for me to remember
some of those places that I ended up when drinking
yes
there were many many trips to hospitals and rehabs for me over the years
do not wish to count how many right now
may cause an early morning headache
got talking with a man there in rehab -- 4 months sober
we shared a lot in common
I shared with him what it used to be like for me
and how it is now
left him with my card
told him to feel free to call anytime
----- not to ever forget where we were -----
----- maybe we can help just one to get out of that place -----

down the mountain in the US today
met up with a friend from AA for work out and lunch
we have talked many times in the past regarding God
I understand -- he is not a believer
no problem
then today the issue came up -- now sure how
regarding
he thinks that the US should pay for all to be buried
yet another entitlement program that he thinks is needed
he was stating how much money the government has
and this is something that should be provided for no cost to all
I say what
the US is BROKE
it is in the news every day now
yet
many are still in denial
Iam thanking God each day
that I still have money for food, roof, animals
if someone wants to be buried someday instead of cremated by the state
let them save their own monies for the burial
seems the fall of man is showing more and more each and every day
I know a few now who get money from SSI and do not work
because
when they worked -- long time ago
it brought stress on them at times
wow
I guess they are right
work used to stress me also at times
during my 40 years on the job !!

I too have felt stress at work. Today, I find other ways to relieve stress rather than drink.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Luke 6:38 :D
A Time to Think
Let a joy keep you. Reach out your hands and take it when it runs by. —Carl Sandburg
A Time to Act
Stop a moment, cease your work and enjoy the day.
A Time to Pray
Lord, you scatter the joys of life among us. Together we can make our way to heaven, where all our dreams will come to pass.

Yesterday, I was taking trash to the outside garbage dumpsters at work and I stopped a moment, ceased my work, and enjoyed watching a flock of geese flying in a V-formation heading north and honking. It was a beautiful sight to see.

Good morning mountainman
thanks for the good morning wishes janbear
hard to pin it down here
but things seem a little different lately
been pretty moody at times
not a good thing for the one wishing to stay sober
when I'am doing my step 10
a step that I do often with God
self get's old at times
I used to hear in AA that I would have to change just about everything
turning out to be true
God willing
oct 22 I will have 4 years
I have been blessed this I do know
wishing you and all a nice day

Will keep you in my prayers Mountainman. I always try to reconnect and get back to basics when it is coming up anniversary time. It helps me to remember, but for the Grace of God, I would not be there. He put some marvelous people in my path over the years. I try to make a point of connecting with some of these Earth Angels.
Wishing you the best on your journey, one day at a time.

Hope you are not stuck in those mountains too much longer and that we will hear from you in 2012. Hope we don't have to wait for the big thaw. Are you snowed in yet?
