Hey y'all, I'm in Greenwood, Nebraska, about 30 minutes outside of Lincoln. Just moved here about a month ago... living with an alcoholic but have not met any other alcoholics here... haven't made it to very many meetings... anyway, was hoping to meet other alcoholics in the area... to hang out, meet up for coffee, whatever... My only friends here are people I have met through my boyfriend, haven't met anyone my age here as my boyfriend is older and his friends are older, I'm only 23.

I'm jim - alcoholic. I'm in SD which is in the same AA Regional delegation as Nebraska. There will be a Regional AA event in Lincoln on the first weekend in March. There will be AA members from all around and many members from Nebraska. It will be a good opportunity for you to make many local contacts and learn about the meetings in your area.
I really recommend that you go to the meetings you can until then however. I don't know about Greenwood, but I am sure there will be a lot of meetings available in Lincoln. You might visit aa.org and go to Area links to find an intergroup or an Area website in Nebraska. From there you can find lists of meetings and times and perhaps a phone number or email address of someone nearby.
I'm glad you have joined AASL. Looking forward to reading you E.S.H.
Thanks, jim k

Dear Lisa,
Jim is right on. I have been to the Australia National convention as well as the International Convention in Toronto and it is amazing being surrounded by so much sobriety. It is wonderful. Make the opportunity to go to the event of which he speaks. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.
