Sometimes in the company of other AA's, the topic of the miracle of physical/mental recovery will surface. Often what I hear is the gratitude for being able to think rationally and being relatively sane. After all the years of alcohol abuse that I tortured my body and my mind with, it really is amazing that my components work as well as they do. Not perfectly but certainly adequate for the task at hand--to stay sober for another day and to try to be of some service to my fellow man.

For that, I am grateful.

Amazing how good things can be, when we do the next right thing. Saddly I have to either experiment or act without thinking and pay the consequence. That built in forgetter gets me every time that I forget.

I went to one of my all time favorite AA meetings held at a church that my grandmother attended for many years. It is held daily at 6:30am, named, Spiritual Awakenings. Many oldtimers with 30 plus years attend this meeting. I am sober 24 years myself. After the meeting, I called my younger sister, also an AA member. I asked her if she wanted to have breakfast together. She agreed. She lives on the north east side of the island of Oahu. The meeting is located at the southeast side of the island. I decided to drive along the seacoast and enjoy the beauty of God's creation. The ocean was choppy and the winds were howling. I felt the power of my God. I soaked up the majesty of the mountains also. I was caught up in the foggy midst that lingered on the mountaintops. My sister took me to a marvelous restaurant and the food was so delicious. It was rather pricey. I am grateful that God has provided me with money to afford this luxury. I went to three AA meetings and spent time in the sauna, hot tub, and pool. When I was drinking, al of this would have been unheard of. Edmund
