Finished a 1 Year Lease and Signed Another 12/1/2010

On December 1, 2010 I did what would have been impossible before AA and God came into my life. I signed another one year lease for the same apartment that I had just finished a 1 year lease.

Considering that before coming to AA I had either been evicted or had run away from any previous leases long before their expiration.

I am very grateful to God and AA for this otherwise impossible feat.

Wow, right on 12 Steppin! As we grow in recover/sobriety we appreciate the little things in life that most normal folks just take for granted. I lived for 7 yrs in Queens, NYC fr 1995-2002. A good AA friend who worked for the telephone company shared alot about how it felt so good to buy himself a new pair of shoes as a newcomer. He said that for many years he worked with shoes with holes and all his money went for booze. He would wear extra socks and stuff newspapers in his shoes to keep them dry. I could sure relate to my friend and to you too. I am sure you have decorated your apartment with sentimental and small things that have good memories. In Dec. of 2003, my wife and I got a mortgage for a beautiful townhouse, two bedroom, one bath, pool, hot tub, and sauna. We have security and maint. people. Our balconey is filled with plants and our view is of the Waianae mountains surrounding cities and Pearl Harbor. I am only a few blocks from my AA homegroup AA meeting. We meet everyday at 5pm at a local park on the shores of Pearl Harbor. Take care and God bless you... Edmund
