k-you ll all think I'm nuts and this wont sound cohesive but that's cool-it ll be like were actually in a mtg 2gether so-YAAY!! (LOL).
my name is elena-im 13 and a half-i live now in a verrry rural area after getting sober and stable in L.A.

i found this board today while trying to find a meeting or some aa's in cancun mexico as im taking my daughter there for a week
for her 13th birthday and i want to hit a few meetings while im there.? ?would be wonderful to 'meet' some allies b4 arriving...

anyway-this may not be the place for that-but it did remind me that the other night i was on the phone w/ a friend i met
who is 1000 miles away and i was lending counsel via page 449 and began to quote and when faltering (i was already in bed
and half asleep when they called; the time difference, you understand)? - - i insisted they find and open the book to page 449
( i did remember the book i bought them at that meeting was a 4th ed. but i thought ' oh suurrrely...')

WELL!! like the oldtimers say-thats whatcha get fer thinkin ! so i need to know- <its been driving me bonkers> not to mention
? yet again shattering my aa guru ego-hahahahaha? <blush>? where the heck is it in that danged shiny book?!!

seems to me i saw a few years back a bookmarker that showed all the important references and to where they'd been relocated.
i had a grand sponsor, (72 yrs old-sweet little thing)? and she'd gotten a few and had em laminated, offered me one.? they were yellow.
i dont like yellow anyway, and of course i didnt tell her that, id larnt some measure of manners by then, but i did tell her
no thank you, id never have a use for it as i intended to only ever buy and use 3rd editions. (and YES they all told me i wouldnt be able to get em)

i cannot believe how slow a learner i am. that in so many areas i am still such a know it all, short-sighted fool!!
and i am so grateful that god keeps me humble and provides a place i can go and get humble and ask or help-
so puuuhleassse!!? if anyone knows where the old 449 is in the new book please let me know- (i sure hope i can find my way back here...lol)
and? i could use one of those bookmarks too if you see one lyin around....

thanks for letting me share.

Thanks, Elena!
Looks like Carol shared the page with you! ;D
I don't know where to find a bookmarker like that.
Hoping you will find one!

Oops!? I missed the part about the bookmark.? ?I have one that is titled "Guides to Progress From the Big Book" that is for the THIRD Edition (and blue).? I don't know if there is one for the fourth edition.? If you have a Central Office near you, try there.? ?Or maybe the literature rack or table at your meetings/conferences/round-ups..
