I am learning to get the help I need

------

Some days I wake up in the morning long before anyone else. My eyes open wide in the darkness and a bad dream flashes by again. But in a way, it doesnt feel like a dream. These days it feels like my life.

It's not easy to feel depressed all day long and then get little relief at night. At times I feel exhausted and hopeless. This is why I need to remind myself again and again that I am not helpless and that help is available. I can use my Twelve Step program and fellowship to help me face each day, one at a time, with courage.

From the book: Today, I will do One Thing

Love your lighthouse and the reading. The 12 Steps are applicable to all parts of my life. I used them to quit smoking 12 years ago, I used them to quit using 19 years ago, and I use them to deal with life on life's terms each day to deal with my chronic pain, fatigue and my emotional sobriety.

With me having fibromyalgia, I am told I can do three things which may mean, getting out of bed, getting dressed and making meals.

The one thing that is important is staying sober.

Love Always,

Jo

Hi Jo, I just love the pic you posted. That is awesome.

Having a dual diagnosis myself I also have to incorporate the 12-step program to all areas of my life too. I am bipolar and schiziod-affective along with being clean and sober. My disorders can drag me down if i am not diligent in my program.

Thanks for sharing in the thread
