"A New Design For Living" that really works. This is what the 12 Steps of recovery has given me. And it does really work, but not by itself, and it isn't magical. For me, it is about turning in the old for something new. Changing my old ideas, thoughts and perception for new ones. Looking at life with a new set of glasses. These are things that I have to work at though and none of it has come easy. One thing I have learned for sure is that anything worth having is worth working for. Working on acceptance, patience and tolerance.Thinking of others more and self less. Helping others without expecting money or material things in return. For what I do get in return is priceless. The freedom I have gotten from doing a 4th and 5th Step and the freedom continues with each amend I make along the way. And it never gets easier but it is a fulfilling learning process. I hit my bumps and land in potholes along the way, but the difference between my past and today is, today I have spiritual tools to work with and people in my life that are willing to help and guide me along the way, and a willingness to take suggestions. Today I have a God in my life who I can depend and rely on and that has unconditional love.
Yes, a "New Design For Living" that really works, if I work for it. Today, it is about the journey and not the destination. "There Is A Solution."
Don't worry about tomorrow, God has already been there.
