When I wake up in the morning, I thank God for all the blessings in my life, then I ask Him to guide my thoughts and actions. I read some out of the Bible then I come to the computer and read through the many daily recovery readings and meditations I receive in my email. I get a cup of coffee or tea and go out on my front porch (weather permitting) and meditate on those things that I have read.
I come back to the computer and post on a few sites then I send daily greetings to a circle of online friends.
This devotion time has priority every morning. NOTHING is more important. I start my day grounded in recovery and spiritually centered.

I wake in the morning and pray. I thank God for all the blessings and gifts He has graced me with and asking how I may use them to be of service to Him and others. I thank Him for my family and friends. I ask Him to keep me sober and clean for today. I pray for others. I ask God for His guidance, protection, strength and courage for the day for myself and others. I pray about other things also as they come to mind. I also say the Serenity prayer. Then I get up and get my coffee, feed my kitties and come to the computer. On the computer I read different meditations, readings and from the Bible. I agree that the devotion time is a priority in the mornings and that nothing is more important. It gets my day off to a great start as you said being grounded in recovery and spiritually centered.
I thank my Higher Power for the day. There is a meditation book I read, and I get on the computer with some coffee, post a meditation, read a couple more, do steps ten and eleven from the Big Book, make a gratitude list.
Someone told me a long time ago if I took the first fifteen minutes of my day and focused on my God and my program, all my days would go better.
Love,
Sam

Every morning I say thank you God for getting me up. I have my prayer then I wash up and then I do my meditation.

I say, "Good morning God, thank you for another day. Take my will and my life, guide me through my recovery and teach me how to live." I then ask Him to keep me clean and sober just for today and say some other prayers along with it. And I always say the Serenity Prayer and end it with, "thine will, not mine be done."
And with that, I know I am trusting my life in good hands throughout the day.
