Have you been feeling for a while that you may have a drinking problem? And have you ever thought that your life might be better if you didn't drink or take drugs? Have you been trying to convince yourself and others close to you that you can 'control' it, but find that you get drunk even when you don't mean to? Have you ever lied to your family, friends or your employer to cover up your exessive drinking or drug use, then feel guilty about lying or being found out? Have you ever been found guilty of driving while under the influence of alcohol? If ever quized about your behaviour, do you become defensive or annoyed by their concerns.

If you have 'honestly' answered YES! to any of these very reasonable questions, then it's time to seriously consider the possibility that your drinking or drug taking is a problem and seek help now.
You can find that help, with no strings attached, at a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. There you will hear the truth about alcoholism from people who have 'honestly' made an assesment of their own drinking habits and who are learning to deal with them on a daily basis. Or visit your doctor with the intention of telling them the truth about your situation so they can to make an accurate diagnosis of your condition.
Most people with a drinking problem usualy try to convince themselves (and others) that they do not have a problem - it's called denial, and that is one of the most obvious signs that there is indeed a pretty far advanced problem.
You have nothing to loose and everything to gain by sitting at the back of the room in an AA meeting and listening with an open mind - it could save your life.
