Thanks for that Sam. I shall go to a meeting tonight, resistance is futile. Despite relapsing for 25 years I must come down of the cross, i'm told they need the wood!
Yes, I must try harder to live sober, I know I can do it. AA is the only way I can have peace of mind, I know this because I have put my sobriety at the top of the tree in the past.
I would say to anyone struggling, don't do what i've done.
Put your sobriety and AA at the top of your priorities and you won't ever need take a drink again.
Naturally a sponsor, home group and step meetings are essentail to the mix.
We are not a glum lot, so here's a joke, probably utterly inapproprate.
Two drunks in a bar, first drunk turns to the other, and says:
"My wife's an angel." The other drunk replies: "You're lucky, mines still alive!"
